Bonus points for being a virgin

Good news first:

  • My engine light is now off.
  • I didn’t have to get a pap smear today. I did get my Depo injection.
  • I have A Course in Miracles in my possession (from the library).
  • I walked over 4 miles today with no foot pain.

Bad news:

  • My car cost me $421. I kid you not. FUCK. Holy credit card debt.
  • My period has lasted for 21+ days.
  • I have to get another mamogram. I’m not even of age to have to get one, but I have to get another.
  • My iron levels are really low so I have to go back to my PCP to get my iron tested. Another appointment.

I didn’t have to get a pap smear because I’m a virgin!! HOLLA! The nurse practitioner agreed with this. I’ve been saying this forever. Thank god I saw the NP today. My OB/GYN probably would have gone on and done it despite knowing that I’m a virgin. I don’t need annual pap smears. Best news ever.

I was like, “Yo, I’ve never had sex”. All loud and proud! 🙂 Anything to get out of the pap smear. The NP was not taken aback, but the nurse seemed to be. lol.

The nurse and nurse practitioner insisted that after this injection my period should be lighter. Yeah, I’m counting on that. 😉 I hope it is true. For some reason, this injection hurt a little. Last time I felt nothing.

I’m bummed about my period because I don’t want to go to yoga with my period. I refuse. I was going to call this Thursday to register for a class on Saturday. Now I’m not so sure.

I’ll leave it here for now.

I’ll delay my sorrow

Update: I found the quote by MLK Jr. I couldn’t find the quote originally because I was thinking of the wrong person. MLK  said:

I’m sorry to have to say that the vast majority of white Americans are racist, either consciously or unconsiously.

There it goes. I don’t see that quote a ton. I see a lot of other quotes people like to spread around. Interesting.

One of my guinea pigs died this week.  😦

My car’s engine light is on. Isn’t this great news? I’m sorry I don’t have a lot of good cheer to spread at the moment. I will try to fix the car myself. Don’t laugh. I’m trying not to freak out. What if I break down in the middle of the street? I’ve had that happened before. People were flipping me off. Some nice guys from Baltimore helped me.

I don’t know what to do. So I won’t go on about it. I do want to have a plan in place for seeing Tori Kelly in DC. Obviously, I won’t drive there with the engine light on. So something will be solved by then. I may rent a car. Hopefully, my car will be fine and I’ll just drive there.

Work has changed. I can no longer work extra hours for free. No more late nights. No more working on the weekends (unless it is overtime).  New policy is in place. This is kind of good news. I will have more time for my practicum and other stuff. But there are drawbacks as well. I can’t get into the drawbacks without giving a lot of detail about where I work. I’m worried about this new change.

Now that I may have to pay to get my car fixed, I’m not sure whether I’m going thrifting tomorrow. If I do go, I may have a thrifting haul post (unless I just get boring things to wear around the house).

This week I…

Music of the week:  Lissie, The 1975, Jewel, Ellie Goulding, Tori Kelly, Rachel Platten,  Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton

Song of the week: Lissie – Don’t You Give Up On Me

TV of the week: Mad Men, political stuff, basketball, The Grammy’s

Movie of the week: none

Books of the week:  I have to take back what I said about Michael Eric Dyson’s writing. The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America  is good. I think this book is so well written because he spent seven years on it. Most of his books seem rushed. Not this one. I could go on and on about this book, but I’m not done yet. I’ll save it until I’m done. I’m on page 94.

I’m also reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. (page 158) This book is causing me to lose sleep. I start reading it at night and I don’t want to put it down. It is a page turner. I’m not done because I don’t read it daily.

Planner update: coming up this weekend
