Stitch Fix review #3

Stitch Fix time. I was styled by Amy again! yay. I thought that since a couple of months had passed that I wouldn’t be lucky enough to have the same stylist for all three fixes. If you saw me on Snapchat (kat3x5), you already know that I freaked out when I found out Amy has read this blog! How humiliating. The thought of ANYONE reading this blog makes me freak out. This is my 1,000th post, btw. Anyway…

Amy did a great job again. She picked two items straight from my Pinterest board. In my note, I asked for a statement necklace and said that my Pinterest board was updated. That’s it.  Here is what I received:

Bay to Baubles Lucile Crystal Collar Necklace

Price: $34

stitchfixnecklace

I like this necklace, but I have a similar one from Wantable.

Market & Spruce Chaplin Lined Hooded Anorak Jacket

Price $94

stitch fix

I wish it were a little bigger. It’s a medium, but it fits like a small. I requested this item after so many people raved about it. I need a fall/spring jacket.

Le Lis Polli Lace Detail Knit Top

Price: $48

stitch fix 2

Like it. I love wearing gray, and I love lace.

Market & Spruce Colibri Plaid Printed Tab-Sleeve Shirt

Price: $48

stitch fix 3

I love plaid, and I don’t have many plaid shirts. A lot of people are getting this shirt from Stitch Fix, so I wasn’t surprised to see this in my fix.

Renee C Reyna Knit Maxi Dress

Price: $78.00

stitch fix maxi dress

I pinned the maxi skirt to my Pinterest board. Um, I had no idea a DRESS existed! How awesome.  A dress is always better than a skirt. I don’t have to find a blouse to wear with it, so I’m happy.

Guess what?? After much debating, this fix is a 5 for 5. It doesn’t make sense to send back a $34 necklace and a blouse with the “buy 5” 25% off discount. This is a deal if I keep all 5 items so that’s what I’m doing. Plus, I know I will wear everything multiple times* and get my money’s worth.

*I am already planning on wearing the maxi dress on Saturday and Wednesday.

I got a trunk preview from Trunk Club on the same day I got my Stitch Fix. Really??! Didn’t I just do Trunk Club? If they could only see my bank account. They wouldn’t send me anything right now. Sigh. I’m not sure I’m doing a blog post on Trunk Club, but I will open it on Snapchat.

Trunk Club review #2

Trunk Club is a styling service for men and women. You keep and pay for what you like and send the rest back (free shipping both ways). There isn’t a styling fee.  All of their clothes came from Nordstrom. BUT they don’t get to choose from everything at Nordstrom. Trunk Club’s selection is smaller.

My last stylist (Brooke) left the company. My new stylist is Kendall. I talked with her on the phone about what I like to wear, and she prepared a trunk for me. I told her no shorts, sandals or heels. I also told her I like maxi dresses, and I wanted loose fitted tops. I did not mention a price range. Here’s what she sent:

Brand: NYDJ

Price: $69.60 (on sale)
tc1

I know this looks “grown up” AKA grandmotherly in the picture, but in real life, it looks better. Anyone who knows me (or reads my blog) knows I’m not a grown up. I dress (and act) like a conservative teenager.

Verdict: As of right now, I’m keeping this.

Brand: Free People

Price: $68

tc2

I received a sky blue version of this. At first, I hated it. But I kept trying it on, and I like it. It might have something to do with me really wanting fall clothing. I have enough summer clothes.

Verdict: I’m on the fence. So far this is a keeper. NOPE. I changed my mind due to finances. I would like this is the fall when I will probably (hopefully) have more money.

Brand: Free People

Price: $58

tc3

Verdict: Sigh. I wanted to keep this, but I have to keep $$$ in mind. How often will I wear a plain black t-shirt? I will almost always reach for something with a print. So I’m unfortunately returning it. I love it, though.

Brand: DL1961

Price: $168

tc4

I don’t own a pair of white jeans. Yes, there is an obvious reason for that. Hello? Who can keep white clean?

Verdict: I wanted to like these, but they were a tad too big. I’m not paying $168 for jeans unless they fit perfectly.

Brand: Equipment

Price: $218

tc5

I love Equipment. I borrowed one of their blouses from Rent The Runway. I wore it during my Asheville vacay.

Verdict: Returning. I didn’t love it enough to spend $218.

Brand: Felicity & CoCo

Price: $88

tc6

I thought I would like this, but the colors…ugh! The bottom is orange and pink. I don’t wear orange.

Verdict: Returning. For some reason she sent me a medium even though I told them, I wear a small in dresses. A tad too big.

Brand: Felicity & CoCo

Price: $88

tc7

Same brand, same size, different fit. Strange. This is also a medium, but it fits! Well, it is too long, but I will either wear wedges or get it hemmed. This is by far my favorite item. However, I have so many blue and white maxi dresses. Tough decision.

Verdict: Keeping. 🙂

Brand: Frame

Price: $249

tc8

I wanted to try these because I don’t have anything like them. Let’s just get to the verdict.

Verdict: Too big. Too long. Horrible fit. Returning.

Brand: Joie

Price: $268

tc9

I requested two floral blouses because she was giving me mostly solids. I like prints. I love Joie but…

Verdict: Returning. Despite the floral print, this is still too plain.

Brand: Joie

Price: $228

tc10

Joie has such beautiful blouses. I don’t know why I didn’t get the ones I saw in Saks 5th Avenue. Perhaps they don’t have them at Nordstrom/Trunk Club? I haven’t checked.

Verdict: Returning. Too plain.

Brand: Joie

Price: $238

tc11

It looks a little better in person.

Verdict: Returning

Brand: Eileen Fisher

Price: $98

tc12

This was the most disappointing item I received.

Verdict: returning $98 for that cropped t-shirt?!

Brand: Halogen

Price: $46

tc13

I love cardigans, but I like them to be oversized. Way too fitted.

Verdict: Returning

Brand: Halogen

Price: $46

tc14

I can get a similar cardigan at Forever 21. Too fitted (again). Too plain.

Verdict: Returning

Brand: Paige Denim

Price: $179

tc15

I wanted to try these jeans because I have never tried cropped jeans before. AND I love Paige jeans. I have a pair I have been wearing constantly from ThredUp. I paid less than $35 for those jeans.

Verdict: Returning. They are a little too big.

I wanted to keep a pair of jeans. It isn’t Kendall’s fault that I’m losing weight, and nothing really fits at the moment. Overall, I think she did a good job. I don’t dress my age. I guess I should ask for trendier items. I don’t know how to word it. Most of these blouses/cardigans are too grown up for me.

There is still a chance I may change my mind on some things if something goes on sale like the NYDJ blouse did. I will update this post if I change my mind. As of right now, I’m only keeping 3 things.

I enjoyed this trunk more than my first trunk because I had more options.  If you want Kendall as your stylist you can click right here.

Fall/winter ThredUp Haul

I was supposed to wait until September to do this fall/winter haul, but I saw some great deals and couldn’t resist. This is my best ThredUp haul to date. It takes a while to get used to the site, so the first few were only semi-good. I also get my Erin Condren planner on Wednesday. I will be unboxing all this on Snapchat on Wednesday or Thursday (kat3x5). hahaha.  To get $10 off your first ThredUp order, please consider using my link. Okay, here we go:

I’m the most excited for the BeBe faux leather leggings. I got a chance to try a pair on, and I loved them. I rocked them. 😉 I love that they only have faux leather on the front so the pants won’t be too hot. So this is it. I’m not planning on ordering from ThredUp again for a couple of months. I just wanted to get fall and winter clothes.

My first ThredUp haul

I will post about my DC trip over the weekend. I did post a few videos from the Tori Kelly concert below.

ThredUp is the best thing ever. No exaggeration. It is an online consignment/thrift store. They sell clothes from Target, Michael Kors, J. Crew, Guess, Ann Taylor, Marc Jacobs, Gap, Tory Burch, Nike, etc. They have women, girls, and boy clothes (including shoes and handbags). I’m a thrift store girl. I will probably NEVER go into a thrift store again. Thanks to ThredUp. I heard about it a year ago, but for some reason, I never tried it. Recently Nicole offered her referral link. I used that link and got $10 off my order. (Here is my referral link – get $10 off).

The clothes do not have the thrift store smell. Most of my clothes smell like perfume. That makes sense since these clothes are coming out of people’s closets. I’m surprised nothing I’ve gotten has smelled like smoke. I’m also very thankful for that. Maybe I’m just lucky?

One more thing I have to add before I show my items: It takes a while to get the hang of ThredUp. Use the filters. That is the best advice I can give. The filters are your friends.

I have to do two separate posts for all the clothes I bought. Most of the clothes I picked were marked “like new”.  Here is what I got in my first haul: (I’ll try to keep my remarks short since I have so many items).

Brand/name: Pixley 3/4 sleeve top

Price: 9.49

tu1

Brand/name: Accessory Street poncho

Price: 12.99

This poncho is from Nordstrom Rack. Brand new with tag.

tu7

Brand/name: Xtaren cardigan

Price: $14.99

This is the back of the cardigan. Obvs. I love the hood and the print. It’s sort of thin, so I may get to wear this throughout the summer.

tu6back

Brand/name: Ann Taylor t-shirt

Price: $7.99

tu2

Brand/name: H&M t-shirt

Price: $4.99

I was pleasantly surprised this fit since it is a small. The last time I went into H&M, I tried on a dress in a size 8, and it didn’t fit. Ouch! I haven’t been back there since.

tu3

Brand/name: Guess Jeans

Price: $15.49

So far I’ve loved all my jeans from ThredUp.  These were marked with “minor signs of wear” but I don’t see anything wrong with them. Almost like new.

tu5

Brand/name: Just Black Jeans

Price: 16.99

I got my first pair of Just Black jeans from Stitch Fix, so I knew what size would fit me. I’m between a size 6 and 8, so I never know what size to get in jeans. I should probably get a size 6, but I like to be safe. I usually get a size 8 (or 29).

tu4

Brand/name: AB Studio top

Price: 6.49

I thought this was going to be just a cheap blouse, but I love it. It will be a go-to top. I know I ordered a lot of clothes, but I tend to wear what I call my go-to items more than once a week.

tu12

Brand/name: Perseption top

Price: 5.49

This will be another go-to item. It fits so well.

tu14

Brand/name: Sharon Young top

Price: 9.49

Not my favorite blouse. It’s a small and is a little snug, but I will wear it. Maybe the previous owner washed it too much? Or these tops run small.

tu9

Brand/name: Coldwater Creek sleeveless top

Price: 7.99 (Final sale)

I’m never going to buy final sale items from ThredUp again. Most of their items are not final sales, so it isn’t a big deal. This blouse is okay, but a little misshapen. Is that why they had it listed as a final sale? It’s cute but,  I probably won’t wear it much.

tu11

Brand/name: AB Studio

Price: 6.49

LOVE THIS BLOUSE. I would wear this everyday. It is so flattering.

tu13

Brand/name: WD.NY 3/4 sleeve top

Price: 12.49

tu15

Brand/name: Express 3/4 sleeve top

Price: 8.49

Another lace top. I searched for “lace tops” and picked the ones I thought I would like the best because I love lace, and I didn’t have enough lace tops before this haul.

tu16

Brand/name: Topshop short sleeve top

Price: 8.49

tu10

Brand/name: Topshop casual dress

Price: 17.49

Where to begin? It is a size 8. It fits okay, but it is a little snug. I can wear small in most dresses, so I thought a size 8 would be fine. Nah. It is also too short for my taste. I don’t have a little black dress, so I’m keeping it. I thought about sending it back for store credit. But one day I might need a LBD. I probably won’t buy another Topshop dress without trying it on first.

tu8

The end…for now. I will post my second haul in about a week. The only things I need now are sweaters. I will probably do a big order around September with just sweaters. Needless to say, don’t judge ThredUp by my fashion choices. 😉 They have things for everyone. This is stuff I specifically wanted for this spring/summer.

Trunk Club review (#1)

Trunk Club is a styling service for men and women. If you live near a Trunk Club office, you can go in person and get styled, or you can have the clothes delivered to you. I had the clothes delivered to me. They have offices in Chicago, Dallas, LA, NYC, and DC. I’m planning to go to their office in DC to get personally styled. But I want to have enough money to splurge, so that is on hold. You keep and pay for what you like and send the rest back (free shipping both ways). There isn’t a styling fee.  All of my clothes came from Nordstrom, but I think they can pull clothes from other places as well.

I asked for a low price point and a casual maxi dress or skirt. I also told her I work from home and that I dress conservatively. Here is what my stylist (Brooke) sent me:

trunk1

Brand: Love, Fire

Cost: $52

Verdict:  I’m keeping this. I love maxi dresses, and this one fits. Love the color.

trunk2

Brand: Splendid

Cost: $178

Verdict:  Sending back. Um, vertical stripes?? NO. I don’t like this dress at all. It’s a little too dressy and definitely too pricey.

trunk3

Brand: Splendid

Cost: $68

Verdict: Sending back. Not my style and $68 for a t-shirt? It also hangs a little too low.

trunk4

Brand: Caslon

Cost: $68

Verdict: Sending back. I was so excited to receive this, but the fabric is too thin. Not worth it.

trunk5

Brand: Stem

Cost: $41 (on sale)

Verdict: Sending back. Way too long. I like it, but it drags on the floor.

trunk6

Brand: Halogen

Cost: $68

Verdict: Keeping. I didn’t want to like this dress, but I do. I hate showing my legs, but I will wear pantyhose and a tall pair of boots. Winner.

trunk7

Brand: Nordstrom

Cost: $28

Verdict: Sending back. Just a pair of simple leggings. Nothing special. See below.

trunk8

Brand: Two by Vince Camuto

Cost: $49

Verdict: Sending back. I LOVE these, but they are too big. She sent a medium; I need a small. Maybe she will resend these to me? Or I may buy them straight from Nordstroms if my stylist isn’t responsive. They are so nice. They are called leggings but they are more like slacks. I don’t have a pair of black slacks.

Update: Brooke is sending me the above leggings in a size small. I’m not getting another trunk for now.

Overall, I’m pleased with the items. I’m only keeping 2 out of 7, but I liked 3 out of 7. One is a sizing issue. I hear they expect you to keep at least 1-2 items per trunk so not bad.

———–

Most trunks come with 15 items, but since I asked for items below $75, she sent what she called a “small trunk.” I would NOT recommend going that low. I would ask for items below $125-$150 if I had to do it again. The stylist will tell you that Trunk Club is a premium clothing service and blah, blah. So don’t ask for clothes under $75 even though they do have clothes under that price point, they clearly don’t like being asked for that. (Not based only on my experience, but also reading the experience of others).

From all the research I’ve done, I feel confident Trunk Club is a good company. However, it is all about the stylist. There are a few bad apples out there. They don’t respond to emails or on the app. Brooke will call you as soon as you sign up. That’s what she did with me a few months ago. She responds quickly to messages and will treat you with respect. I recommend her. I haven’t heard one bad word about her.

I will update this post if Brooke decides to send a follow-up trunk like many stylists do.

I’m getting my first Stitch Fix on April 14th. I’m excited to try them. Their clothes cost less than Trunk Club.  I will do a short entry on SF when I get my first box. Thanks for reading!

I’m just a window pane

I’ve been a very bad girl. I ordered two tunics and two maxi skirts!! GroopDealz has great deals. It’s better  than eBay when it comes to clothes, jewelry etc. I’ve decided I will use GroopDealz for future gifts.  I usually ignore their emails because I don’t want to spend, but I have Stitch Fix on my mind and I was pinning tunics for my Pinterest board last night. Then I saw “Tunics on sale for $9.99” this morning. Of course, I opened the email. I ordered a light blue one (pictured below) and a fuschia one.

tunic

If the tunics are too long or too baggy, I will just wear them when I’m walking my dog or doing yard work. I hope they fit well. It looks like my style, but I can’t tell. I haven’t worn a tunic that length since high school. (And that was only because we couldn’t afford clothes that fit so my clothes were misshapen. LOL). I also ordered two maxi skirts. I bought a blue one and green one (pictured below). Each was on sale for $9.99. I’m hoping for good quality. Otherwise, I’ll just donate them or give them away as gifts. haha.

It is interesting how “the GOP establishment” is coming out against Trump NOW. Isn’t it too late? But I just realized that they gave the American people too much credit. They thought people would be too smart to vote for Trump. Sigh.

This week I…

Music of the week:  Toby Lightman, Tori Kelly, Jewel, The 1975, Lissie, Demi Lovato, Coldplay, Little Mix

It is nice to rediscover Toby Lightman. Her music got me through some rough times.

TV of the week: Mad Men, basketball, political stuff

I called the daytime hosts at MSNBC lightweights. I forgot about Tamron Hall and Andrea Mitchell. Love them. They are not lightweights. They are professional journalists. Anyhow, I did find a news alternative to MSNBC. I no longer watch MSNBC during the day or evening. If I want news, I get it from The Young Turks.  (I’m not a paying member (yet?). I watch their videos on YouTube). Yes, I am late. Very late. The only thing I don’t like about them is how pro-Bernie Sanders they are. I wish they would try to be neutral when it comes to Hillary versus Bernie. Anyway, here is a clip of them talking about the decline of MSNBC:

I agree. I don’t think MSNBC will be around in 2 years…unless Trump becomes president, and the network decides to be outraged at the things he does. As of today, they are very much CNN Lite during the day. Who wants that?

Movie of the week: I wanted to rent Spotlight this weekend, but I spent my money on clothes instead. 😦 I will rent it; I just don’t know when. With all the basketball coming on, I might wait until April.

Books of the week: In the future, I want to blog more about the books I finish reading so this will be a long-ish part of the entry. I finished reading The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America by Michael Eric Dyson. I gave it 3 stars on Goodreads, but I really would give it 3.5 stars if that were an option. He lost me a bit in the middle and at the end. Some of it is redundant and I already follow Obama closely, so I know this stuff.  However, I do feel this book is an important read.

The best part was the beginning where he explains how Barack Obama may not be strong on black issues because his history isn’t a slave history like most black Americans.  I know people have said this before, but I thought it was silly.  Some were using this as an issue saying he wasn’t black enough, so I dismissed a lot of that talk. But Dyson made me believe that is why Obama is the way he is. His ancestors weren’t slaves therefore, he approaches and thinks about race differently.

Overall, I agree with what Dyson is saying: Obama could be better when it comes to race issues. But that isn’t my main critique of his presidency. It’s just something to note.

Currently reading:

  • Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half of the Story by Jewel (page 159) This is not just an autobiography. It is also self-help.
  • Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I just started this. Yes, another book on race.
  • Chanel Bonfire by Wendy Lawless (audiobook) I’m on chapter 3. Audiobooks are supposed to be quick “reads”, but I have to be in a certain mood to want to listen to audiobooks, so it is a very slow “read” for me. I can’t believe Amazon has this book on sale for 1.99 right now. I would have bought it if I didn’t have the audiobook. Oh well. Too late.

It is supposed to snow tonight, so I don’t know what my weekend plans are. I hope I’m not stuck. Next year I will have a shovel. For sure. I just thought since we had a 70-degree day recently, that winter was over. Uh, no. Sucks.

I’m going to work on my practicum right after I post this entry. I really need to work hard on that this month. I guess that is the main thing I will be doing this weekend.

initial thoughts on Le Tote

Le Tote has been branded as a Netflix for clothes. You pay a fee ($49) and you get clothes and accessories. You can send them back in 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months. And then you get “new” clothes. You get to pick what you want if you choose to or they will pick for you base on what you like. New is in quotes because the clothes are used (but clean). LeTote has clothes/accessories from Jessica Simpson, Levi, Betsy Johnson, Nine West, BCBGeneration, French Connection and more.

I got my first LeTote box at a 20% discount on Thursday. I told them no dresses, skirts, bracelets, or shorts. So my box is pretty boring, but that is my fault. I work at home and it is getting cold so I don’t have a need for dresses even though their dresses and skirts look divine. Please don’t judge Le Tote based on my clothes I post here. 😉  Go to the website and you can see what they offer. (If you click on that link you get $25 off your first box or you can just go to Letote.com).

One more note: Even though I am kind of small (123 lbs and about 5’5″), I told them to send me medium tops because my stomach is not flat. One of the medium blouses was a little too big, but I’m wearing it anyway. The “stylist” sent me a small top that I did not choose. That was kind of snug. Once again I’m still wearing it. It would have been great in a medium. The medium sweater fit perfectly.

Anyway, here is what I got in box #1:

letote1
blouse by Octavia
letote2
Blouse by Summer & Sage
sweater by Fate
sweater by Fate
earrings by Noir Luxe
earrings by Noir Luxe
necklace by Ava
necklace by Ava

My favorite thing are the earrings. I thought it would be the necklace. I’m wearing those earrings every time I go out until I send these items back. Love them. I would keep them, but I’m trying to be good. (You can keep any item or all the items for a discount. The earrings are $20 with the discount).

If I worked in the office, I would totally keep this subscription. I like wearing different clothes. But since I go out only once or twice a week during the winter, I don’t need different clothes so I don’t know what I’m going to do. I would try Stitch Fix, but you don’t get to wear all the clothes. You can only try on their clothes and wear what you want to buy. That is the biggest difference between the two. I probably will try Stitch Fix this summer when I actually leave the house from time to time. 🙂  I’m sending this box back to Le Tote on November 10 because I want to wear the jewelry as much as possible.

Overall, I like Le Tote. I’m going to skip January since my lifestyle doesn’t call for new clothes that often. The biggest con for me is that some of the clothes come wrinkled. LOL. I hate ironing but luckily for me, I didn’t have to iron anything in this box. I don’t think the price is that bad because you get to wear all the clothes and accessories.

I will have more thoughts and maybe more posts on Le Tote once I get more clothes. These are just my initial thoughts.

Forever 21 Haul

We all know Forever 21 clothes rarely last a long time. However, some minimalists I know of will shop at Forever 21 because they are only looking for things that will last ONE season. That way the person can still shop a few times a year…if shopping is a hobby that works out great. Most people insist that your capsule wardrobe must have expensive items that will last, but I like the idea of mixing both. I have high quality items and F21 items.

Here are the items from my F21 fall/winter haul. It isn’t that exciting. Lots of gray. The first item is a pair of yoga pants. I had no idea I would like them so much.  I wore them out yesterday. So comfy! I would have gotten two pairs. This is the only thing I didn’t take a photo of myself. I just snagged it from the website:

yoga pants
sweater
sweater
another sweater
another sweater
more gray
more gray
simple shirt
simple shirt
some color!
some color!

That’s all folks. That is what I will be mostly wearing through March. I’m such a fashionista.  (<–sarcasm) The clothes are not fashionable, but it fits a  minimalist wardrobe perfectly.

This week I…

Music of the week: Hamilton (Broadway Cast), Janet Jackson, Carly Rae Jepsen, James Bay Selena Gomez, Leona Lewis, Jewel, Jennifer Lopez

TV of the week:  Lost (season 1)

I doubt I rewatch all of Lost but starting it seemed like a good idea at one point.

Movies of the week:  none

Books of the week:  Still reading Soul Shifts: Transformative Wisdom for Creating a Life of Authentic Awakening, Emotional Freedom, &  Practical Spirituality (on page 107) by Dr. Barbara De Angelis and  Miss Minimalist: Inspiration to Downsize, Declutter, and Simplify  (38% through) by Francine Jay. Soul Shifts has some good reminders, but I don’t like the way it is written. I don’t like her anecdotes. I’m just going to speed read through the rest of it.

I just started Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much More by Janet Mock. Janet is a trans women. I bet this book is more insightful than any self-help book. It’s great so far. I find myself relating to the LGBT community.

Planner update:

plans of the week
plans of the week

It’s time to make a decision on what planner I will use for 2016. I’m leaning towards Inkwell Press A5 inserts even though I’m not crazy about horizontal layouts. I think I’m going to order one and try it. I will put it in my gold Kikki.K. I’m impressed with Inkwell because they have the best paper quality on the planner market and their planners are goal oriented.

For my personal sized planner, I going with an Esty seller’s inserts. Her company is called Life is Crafted. She is in Austrailia. The shipping of those inserts should be interesting. I’ve had different results with shipping from Austrailia. They are kind of expensive (but worth it).

This is just my beginning

So far it seems like the cheat day on Nutrisystem worked! Surprise. I never weigh 134 in the middle of the day but today I did. I hope I can get down to 130…without having another cheat day. EDIT: I now weigh 133!!!!!!!111!!!! The cheat day totally worked. Yay! I have lost 9 pounds on NS. 3 more to go? I’m quitting the program in the end of July and doing the same thing on my own.

“NEW” CLOTHES ALERT. I have a brand new wardrobe. Coats, pants, skirt suits, blouses, etc. The only downside is that all of these clothes have to be dry cleaned. I even have a 100% cashmere coat. I kid you not!!! (O god, how much will that cost to dry clean?)  Some of the blouses I’m wearing without dry cleaning. There is no shame in my game.

(Btw, I got these clothes from a well off couple at an estate sale)

So yeah, I got about $3000 worth of clothes for $25. No biggie. That is not the norm. I just got lucky with this lot of clothes. The other clothes were worth about $5000 and went for $200. That is more the norm for estate sales.

This dress by Nina Ricci will probably be my go to interview outfit. I dunno. I have 3 to choose from. I just love purple so this is a front runner:

Here is the vintage bag from Monsac. It came with a dust bag. I will probably try to sell it on Etsy. It is too white and small for me.

I love, love, love this skirt. It is in the bottom of my “to be dry cleaned” box and I’m too lazy to go find out the designer.

This isn’t everything. I would be here all night if I took pics of everything. I have 2 Chanel pants that I love but are underwhelming in photos. I’m selling 5 of the items out of about 25.

I know it isn’t cool to blog about what designer clothes you have. But:

  1. I brought these used.
  2. I got picked on daily for my clothes all throughout regular school and college….and occasionally by “grown ups” in the workplace!

So I don’t feel at all bad about posting this. YAY, new clothes. I love clothes. 🙂 🙂 I know I’m going to freak when I see how much these clothes cost to dry clean. lol.

woohoo! I brought my dress from Walmart. haha. It was $15 and I really like it. I would love it if it were purple. It is an ankle length dress. There wasn’t a large selection of dresses. They had a lot of cute skirts to choose from but I wanted a dress. I’m going to wear a black shawl with it. Here is a close up of the lace pattern: (I love lace!)

P.S. As far as I can tell, this dress is coral. My titles rarely make sense. I just hear a lyric and I think: next blog entry title!

I had no idea that this Friday was Good Friday.  I didn’t know Easter was this Sunday either. That is how out of the loop I am on anything religious. OH, that is why they are having their meeting. I’m so lost. Anyway I’m wearing this dress to the Jehovah Witness/Good Friday event and I might wear it on my birthday. This dress is definitely going to be my go to dress for a while…as long as a Walmart dress will last.

I uploaded my 2nd YouTube planner video. I was more relaxed this time. I even kind of chuckled a couple of times. 😉 I could get used to this but I don’t want to post updates on my planners because not much changes on a month to month bases. I will definitely do these videos annually. I want to upload more concert videos but I haven’t been to a concert in about a year. And I don’t have any plans to go to one anytime soon. The people I really want to see aren’t on tour. (Ellie Goulding) OR they aren’t touring where I live. (Sam Smith).

Oh, one person I am dying to see again is D’angelo. I will travel for him. So if he goes on an United States tour, I will drop everything for him. When I saw him, he opened for Mary J. Blige. The crowd wasn’t into him at all. I was the only person in my section standing and clapping. (I could stand because no one cared that he was there). This time IF he tours the US, he will be the headliner. I would die to see him headline. It would be awesome.

Time for April goals. I accomplished 7 out of the 12 goals I had for March. I guarantee you that would not have happened if I hadn’t wrote it down. Write it down, make it happen! Sounds cheesy but it works for me. Some of my goals for April are vague but here goes:

April Goals

  • Make a plan for passing my certification exam. I know that is vague but that’s because I have no clue what I’m doing. I already passed the board exam but now I have to pass one more (and hopefully final) test to keep my certification. I have to pass with an 80. And this subject is not my strength so I’m worried. I’m planning to take the test in July during my week off from work. I get two tries for $60. I would love to pass the first time. I’m so nervous.
  • Decide what I want for my birthday. I know this is easy to pass judgement on but people are asking and I have NO IDEA what I want. I’m trying to keep the price low…I would think asking for a gift card would be fine but some people want to give an actual thing. (edited to add: I finally think I know what I may ask for…still thinking though).
  • Complete at least 72 practicum cases. I met this goal last month (barely) so I’m going to try again.
  • Write a what to pack list for my cabin trip. I’m also cooking food in advance to take with me. The cabin has a full kitchen but I just want to warm my food up while I’m there.
  • Finish reading 3 books.
  • Watch 2 movies.
  • Clean the guinea pig cage and room.
  • Decide what to do about knitting. lol. I have all this yarn and supplies. I still like to knit but what am I going to knit next?
  • Do #ListersGottaList. Not only do it but participate on Instagram as well. I’m not an instagram person but I’m trying. Everyday in April there is a prompt for a list. My goal is to post at least 15 of these on instagram. I may post a few in this blog but that doesn’t count towards the goal. I’m trying to put myself out there a little.  It’s intimidating because everyone else is decorating and has fancy supplies and I’m doing mine in my filofax. I have limited space and limited supplies. If anyone wants to participate go to Listersgottalist.com. It’s free.
  • Visit the location where I want to sell. I think it is about 30 minutes from where I live. I will inquire about the business license at that time also.
  • Keep meditating. I’m using an app called Buddhist Meditation Trainer. Love it so far. I will try to do it 3 times a week. I know everyday is ideal.

….and a few private goals.
