My dog sleeps most of the day. That is great for me because I’m working. The problem is that he up at night. See, this is why I can’t handle kids. I think my dog is too demanding. This dog stuff is serious shit. I LOVE animals but…sigh. For the most part, he knows not to bother me when I’m working.
Like I’ve said, I can’t remember what happened what year most of the time. I was still writing 2014 for most of 2015. But someone asked, “What was the best thing about 2015?” And I couldn’t think of anything for a while. What about Nutrisystem? DUH. It was the best decision I made. Even though it may have sped up my prehypertension (not sure about that), I would do it all over again.
I lost at least 17 pounds, and I learned how I’m supposed to eat. Sounds good to me. Staying at the state park cabin for three nights with my dog was also a highlight of the year.
The worst decision I made in 2015 probably was the Micahel Kors bag. I would have to think over everything that happened. But it falls in the top five. I do love my bag, and I do use it. Would I buy it all over again? NO WAY.
This week I…
Music of the week: Rachel Platten, Ellie Goulding, Adele, Ella Eyre, Fiona Apple, Maria Mena, Chris Stapleton, Amanda Palmer
Ella Eyre’s album is not available in America. Bummer. 😦 She’s so good. How can they do this? I first fell in love with her voice when I heard her cover of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off”. And then I heard her original songs. Love her. I can’t pick one of her songs to share this week, so I’m posting two.
TV of the week: Nurse Jackie, basketball
Movie of the week: None
Books of the week: I finished reading Savor: Mindful Eating, Mindful Life by Thich Nhat Hanh. This book had some helpful tips, but I’m not doing all the mindful stuff right now. I found myself wanting to take notes on some things, but I didn’t. I would only recommend it to people interested in mindfulness. It did encourage me to exercise daily. This book was the push I needed. (hence the treadmill)
Now reading:
- Crazy: A Father’s Search Through America’s Mental Health Madness by Pete Earley
- Pure Murder by Corey Mitchell
- Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes (audiobook)
Treadmill update: Right now I’m doing 15 minutes (about a mile) every other day. Eventually, I would like to do 2 miles a day on weekdays. And maybe 3-4 miles on the weekend. When it gets warm and, I have to mow the lawn, no treadmill on those days.
I’m worried about it lasting. I already ordered a cleaning gadget to clean the belt. I’m lubing it. I want this to last at least five years. At least. Btw, I forgot to mention how quiet this treadmill is. It is also small (for a treadmill), so it is perfect for apartments.
Check out the LifeSpan TR200 Compact Treadmill. If you don’t mind assembling yourself, I’m sure there are cheaper and just as good options. I wanted mine already assembled.
